Yes being part of Patches is now being part of a wonderful community as I got to know other artists and nowadays they are my friends. For those who think Patches is about selling and doing money it’s not the case. In a way it’s a nice thing if you get to sell an item or two and it’s true for someone like me who works from home it’s a good stepping stone to reach a higher level. We get the chance to promote our arts and crafts not forgetting the yummy food stalls
. But for me Patches is much more than this, it gives me a positive vibe, the atmosphere is always unique and the friendly people which come and visit really show interest in what we do.I always look foward for Patches because I always end up getting something original myself everytime !!
I am Claudia Catania from Kalkara. I’m 35 years old married and have two girls. At the moment I am a full time mum and I love my 24hr job even though it involves loads of work mentally and physically!! I love reading, shopping and travelling. I also love history music and art. It’s my pleasure visiting museums and historic sites around our lovely country!!
About a two years ago I started browsing and reading books about Faberge Eggs and from then on I have been exploring this wonderful way of making different ornaments and jewel boxes from just an eggshell. I have done loads of work on eggs and each time I finish one I’m already thinking what to do next. Egg Art has inspired me so much . I feel so inspired and happy creating ornaments and jewel boxes using different eggshells like duck, goose, emu and even ostrich shells. It is more than a hobby and this year I have opened a web page with all my creations. People really get curios when they see the finished product and sometimes they do not realize they are made from real eggshells. The common question they always ask is are they fragile and how do you cut them and I love to explain step by step the procedure used.
