Pottery is my passion. Retirement provided the time and space to realise a life long ambition to make quality handmade functional pottery. I spend many hours in my studio, throwing pots in stoneware, making my own glazes, and firing to cone 10 reduction in my propane-fired gas kiln.  I experiment with local clays, but primarily use high-firing smooth or mildly grogged clays and porcelain from Northern Ireland.  The throwing characteristics of these clays particularly suit my style and firing protocols. I enjoy making things that make me (and others) happy.
